From the FDA Medwatch on June 30, 2008:
Roche and Novartis have added changes to the prescribing information of CellCept and Myfortic, respectively, regarding post marketing reports of Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) in patients on these drugs. The most frequent clinical features observed were hemiparesis, apathy, confusion, cognitive deficiencies, and ataxia. Cases of PML have, in rare instances, become fatal in patients treated with these drugs. Both drugs are used to treat transplant rejection. The drugs covered under these plans treat common diseases such as allergies, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and many others. Also keep in mind that these prices do reflect commonly prescribed dosages up to a 30 day supply. For dosages that are higher, the prices may be more. Nevertheless, these programs offer significant savings to individuals who don’t have prescription insurance. You can call these pharmacies for more information or check out their websites online.
